If you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea," this nutty and charming retelling is a musical comedy gem!  Did you know that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken's love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reach the bridal altar post haste? Or that it wasn't the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderfully witty songs and delightfully brilliant lyrics, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.  Nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical, Mattress is a masterpiece that’s as fresh and funny as ever!  Directed by Robinne Booth.  Music Direction by Martha Glissmeyer.  Choreography by Sunny Watts.

Ages:  Girls 5-9
Cost:  $12/Child, $5/Adult. Price includes all games, prizes and snack. Each child should be accompanied by an adult. Siblings, relatives or small groups may be accompanied by one adult responsible for the group. Reservations are required, and must be made at least 24 hours prior to the event by calling (801) 225-ARTS or clicking the BUY TICKETS link below. Separate admission is required to attend the musical.

Come join Princess Winnifred and her friends from the cast of SCERA’s musical production of “Once upon a Mattress” for a silly and delightful Tea Party with "Fred," Prince Dauntless, Queen Aggravain and more. Bring your camera for photo opportunities with the costumed characters. Dress up your little princess and come have king-sized fun withgames and prizes fit for a Queen.

Search for the Pea - Hunt through a mountain of zany things to find the hidden pea.

The Queen's Course - Find out if you have what it takes to be the next princess. Can you pass Queen Aggravain’s obstacle course?  

The Swamps of Home - Don’t get stuck in the mud as you try to get the frogs on their lily pads

Kiss the Prince - It’s Pin the Tail on the Donkey princess style. Get your paper lips the closest to the Prince’s lips and you will win a fun prize.

Create your own fun Charm Bracelet  - With fun beads, charms, and other trinkets fit for a princess.

Decorate your own Princess Crown  - With glitter, jewels and stickers you can create a crown that will be the envy of the palace.

Decorate yout own “Team Fred” Pennant - Wave your pennant during the show. Make sure you get Winnifred’s autograph on it!
