AUDITIONS
Auditions for ages 16 through older adults and a small children’s ensemble ages 8-12 will be held on January 21 & 22 from 7-9 pm at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. An aux cord is available – please have your music cued. Tracks only, no accompanist will be provided. All roles are available. Callbacks, for those invited, will be held on Saturday, January 25.
AUDITION SIGN UP: We use Casting Manager throughout the audition process, and you can access the audition details and sign for an audition day and time slot at http://castingmanager.com/audition/info/B3ROrvyuUDgYhfK. If this is your first time using Casting Manager, you will be asked to create an account, and upload a resume and headshot if you have them. If you don’t have a resume or headshot, there is space where you can add in your education, training, experience, shows, etc. However, if you are new to theatre and the audition process, don’t be intimidated… we welcome talented first-timers!
AUDITION VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS: Once in Casting Manager, click on the role you would like to audition for and click on the Video Submission box where it will give you a place for your YouTube link.
Rehearsals will begin the week of January 27th and generally be held Monday-Friday evenings 7-10 and some Saturdays. A more detailed schedule will be provided once casting is final.
ABOUT THE SHOW: Based on the MGM film, this beloved tale of a Kansas farm girl who travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home will take you through a field of poppies, down a yellow brick road and to the Emerald City, with a loyal Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion along for the journey.
