THE DRIFTERS

This Rock & Roll Hall of Fame vocal group is the perfect mix of American doo wop, R&B and soul.

Description

One of Rock & Roll’s founding vocal groups, The Drifters are headed by the legendary George Treadwell.  They were the first musical group to sell two million records with their pop classic, Up On The Roof.  With fellow inductees The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Supremes, The Drifters were in the first class of legends to be initiated into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their megahit Under The Boardwalk is the most played R&B record of all time. Twenty other million sellers followed, including This Magic Moment, There Goes My Baby, Save The Last Dance For Me, Spanish Harlem, Stand by Me and Some Kind of Wonderful! The Drifters are the perfect mix of American doo wop, R&B and soul who prove that the oldies are still the goodies.
