It’s one happy holiday with this charming new musical based on the beloved film!
Description
Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Directed by Michael Carrasco. Music Direction by Allison Books. Choreography by Chantelle Peck.

For the first time ever, we are hosting post-show “talkbacks,” where audience members can stay after the performance for about 15 minutes and join a fun discussion and Q&A led by Tori Gurr of Utah Theatre Bloggers Association. Cast and creative team members will be on stage, and Tori will help bring you into the magic of live theatre, where you can get to know the actors and their connection to their characters, and find out behind the scenes secrets from our directors and designers. The talkbacks are free, and included with your admission ticket.
POST-SHOW TALKBACKS will be held on Wednesday, December 4 and Wednesday, December 11. Please purchase your show ticket for one of those days.
TORI GURR has been a lover of the theatre since a little girl. She has participated in many plays and musicals, including Meg Giri in Phantom of the Opera, The Narrator in Spamalot and helped backstage at Brigham Young University’s production of Wonderland. She has been involved in theatre all throughout her life and is currently studying Theatre for her minor at BYU. Tori joined the Utah Theatre Bloggers Association at the end of 2018 and has enjoyed reviewing shows all over Utah, including right here at SCERA. A special thanks to the wonderful people at the SCERA Center for the Arts for letting me join them on this adventure!
