SCERA Youth Theatre

 

All groups participate in a Christmas and Spring Music Revue and perform in their own one-act live theatre show. Program Director: Shawn Mortensen

Alpha Actors: K-1st grade
Creative drama class for very young students that brings stories to life using imagination and pretend games.
Dates: Sept. 7-May 14
Time: Tuesdays 4-5pm
Tuition: $25/month plus $15 production fee/semester

Showteam:  Grades 2-4
Musical theatre focus with singing/dancing/acting/showmanship.
Dates: Sept. 7-May 14
Time: Tuesdays 4-6pm
Tuition: $35/month plus $40 production fee/semester

Dramatics: Grades 2-4
Musical theatre focus with singing/dancing/acting/showmanship.

Tuition: $35/month plus $40 production fee/semester

Stage Crazy:  Grades 4-6
Musical theatre focus with singing/dancing/acting/showmanship/audition skills.
Dates: Sept. 8-May 14
Time: Wednesdays 4-6pm
Tuition: $35/month plus $40 production fee/semester

Headliners:  Grades 7-10
Beginning musical theatre class covers basic acting skills, movement, vocal styles and theatre history.
Dates: Sept. 8-May 14
Time: Wednesdays 4-6pm
Tuition: $35/month plus $40 production fee/semester
Instructors: Ruth Ellis, Thad Nelson, Elisa Thurber, Alec Powell, Haley Wawro

Young Actors Workshop:  Grades 4-6
Beginning acting class covers basic acting skills, stage combat, stage makeup, audition techniques and theatre history.
Dates: Sept. 10-May 14
Time: Fridays 4-6pm
Tuition: $30/month plus $40 production fee/semester
Instructors: Alex Barlow, Thad Nelson, Lauren Pugmire, Andrew Absher, Ellie Benson

Class Act:  Grades 7-11
Intermediate acting class covers more advanced acting skills with scenes, monologues and stage combat, plus movement and audition techniques.
Dates: Sept. 10-May 14
Time: Fridays 4-6pm
Tuition: $30/month plus $40 production fee/semester

General Ruckus (Grades 7-10) - Directed by Amy Shreeve Keeler/Choreographers Samantha Frisby and Wes Valdez
Shakespeare Teams (Grades 4-7 and 8-12)

TO REGISTER:  Registration for fall 2010 will begin on Monday, August 16, 2010.  Pick up a registration form at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem, open 10am-6pm weekdays or Saturdays from 12Noon-6pm, call (801) 225-ARTS to register by phone or Download & Print Fall 2010-Winter 2011 Registration Form. Bring the completed form and full payment to the main office of the SCERA Center for the Arts.  There is a $15 cancellation fee per class.
