FALL 2012 / WINTER 2013







This digital photography workshop will teach students to become more proficient with their camera, learn the principles of composition to take better photographs and how to inferface their camera to the computer.  Participants will exhibit their pictures in the SCERA Gallery.  Former Pix Club students have won awards at the county and state fair.  Instructor:  Nicole Burgess





FALL SEMESTER:  Week of September 10 - Week of December 10, 2012
WINTER SEMESTER:  Week of January 7 - Week of May 6, 2013




BEGINNING PHOTO
Ages:  10-15
Time:  Tuesdays 4:00-5:00pm
Tuition:  $35/month plus $40 materials fee
STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN DIGITAL CAMERA.  This class will start with the basics, using the camera in automatic.  Students will learn the fundamentals of photography including concepts of what looks good in a photograph, and what types are natural lighting are best.  Each student will move at their own pace, and then start building additional concepts beyond the basics.  This class will be about practice!  The more pictures you take, the more you'll learn.  There will be a different goal each week to practice what was taught, and by the end of the course each student will have their own small portfolio offering their best work.

INTERMEDIATE PHOTO
Ages:  14-18
Time:  Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm
Tuition:  $35/month plus $40 materials fee
STUDENTS NEED TO BRING A SINGLE LENS REFLEX CAMERA (SLR).  This class will teach how to use an SLR camera on manual, learning and practicing the main three elements of ISO, Aperature and Shutter Speed.  Students will get an introduction to how changing these settings can impact a photo.  Students should have a simple understanding of basic photography, so this workshop can focus on learning how to use their camera's settings.  There will be assignments based on the specific settings being taught each week.  By the end of the course, students will be able to use their camera on manual, and understand how changing settings will affect their final photograph.  They will have a portfolio showing the different concepts. 

PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ADULTS
Ages:  18 and older
Time:  Wednesdays or Fridays from 1:00-2:30pm
Tuition:  $35/month plus $40 materials fee
