In the fall and in the spring, SCERA offers a Cinema Classics Series of some of your favorite films spanning the decades! The movies show on Tuesday mornings at 10:00am in the remodeled XanGo Grand Theatre at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Doors open @ 9:30am. No advance tickets or reservations are required. Senior Center groups are always welcome!

Ella Peterson is a telephone operator who tries to improve the lives of her clients by passing along information she hears from others. She falls in love with a client, Jeffrey Moss, and is determined to meet him. The trouble is, on the phone to him she always pretends to be an old woman whom he calls “Mom.”

Fred Astaire, as Finian, plants a leprechaun’s crock of gold in order to “make it grow.” His daughter (Petula Clark) doubts this bit of malarkey until a leprechaun pops up looking for his gold and things really start jumping.

Flames consume the world’s tallest skyscraper. While most of the tenants of the building manage to escape, socialites gathered on the top floor of this towering inferno fear for their lives. Architect Doug Roberts (Newman) and firefighter Michael O’Hallorhan (McQueen) plan a daring rescue.

Sinise plays Terry McQuinn, a Los Angeles lawyer who learns a powerful lesson about second chances. When his father dies, Terry returns to his Maine home. He is reunited with Katherine Wentworth, whose family had employed the services of his father as caretaker and handyman. A secret from their past turns out to be the key to their future - a reminder that it’s never too late to forgive.
