Don't miss this unique opportunity to improve your vocals with instruction from Amy Whitcomb, the breakout star of Delilah, the all-female acappella group who gained national attention on NBC's "The Sing Off." After her powerful and electrifying performances on the show, Rolling Stone Magazine raved "Someone, anyone, please give this girl a recording deal!" Amy was also the winner of SCERA's 2010 Celebrity Vocal Competition, beatng out more than 60 other singers for the title. She has opened for John Michael Montgomery, Brian McKnight, Rockapella, and numerous other big-time artists at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre and her band, The Whits, performed at Stadium of Fire. She is fun, full of energy and teaches proper vocal technique, projection, song interpretation and much more. There will be a recital at the end of each session and students will also have the opportunity to be part of a Master Class with other students.
Amy Whitcomb grew up in Orlando, FL and graduated from BYU in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Contemporary Voice last April. She has since been performed on many stages including national television, Asia, Europe, as well as other huge venues across the US. Ten years of vocal study combined with her years of performance experience as a solo artist, with acappella groups Noteworthy and Delilah, as well as with her rock band The Whits has helped her to develop and understand her own voice to the fullest. Amy has been teaching voice the past 3 years in Utah County. She offers contemporary voice lessons with a major focus on vocal health and performance. Whether you want to learn more about mix and belt or need someone to coach your performance, she could very well be the mentor you need. In addition to vocal lessons, Amy is available for hire for vocal, acappella, and performance clinics as well as Master Classes.
A PERSONAL NOTE FROM AMY: "As your teacher, I am first and foremost your cheerleader, your biggest fan! I hope to give you the motivation and confidence you need to dig deep and learn more about yourself and your unique abilities as a singer. The improvements you make will be almost entirely up to you. I'll give you the tools to learn more about mix, belt, performing musical theater and pop...but YOU will have to apply these principles everyday. Together we will get to know YOUR voice, its capabilities, its potential, its strengths, its weaknesses. We will shape the curriculum to suit your own individual needs, but we will always be practicing excellent vocal technique and learning about vocal health."
