Adult Opera Workshop
August 16-September 15, 2012

It’s time to embrace the art of opera! This class will focus on acting, movement, stagecraft and musical style specific to opera. Participants will prepare excerpts from assigned operas, culminating with a public performance. Auditions for the workshop will be held July 10 from 7-9pm and auditioners should prepare one classical art song or appropriate aria.

Youth Classical Singing Workshop

In this one week interactive camp, students will learn classical vocal technique, take part in group voice lessons, and enjoy fun lessons in acting and stage presence, opera 101, diction and audition techniques. The workshop will culminate with singers giving a recital for family and friends. Auditions for the workshop will be held June 26 from 7:00-8:30pm and auditioners should prepare one classical art song or appropriate aria.

TO REGISTER: Registration for Summer 2012 will open on Monday, April 2, 2012. You may pick up a registration form at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem, open 10am-6pm weekdays, call (801) 225-ARTS to register by phone or download and print registration form. Bring the completed form and full payment to the main office of the SCERA Center for the Arts. There is a $15 cancellation fee per class.
